Classic: A Class Act

One of the most crucial essentials to financial security is reliable transportation.  For many individuals, lack of transportation is the first, and often final straw, in crises that cause job insecurity, housing loss, hunger, and increasing difficulty. Car donations are crucial for GRACE in ensuring individuals and families have reliable transportation to work and school, so they are able to increase their earning potential, make their rent or take their children to day care. One of our hardworking Transitional Housing Program participants, Alexus, had one of the best weeks ever last week!  She is grateful for the opportunities and assistance coming her way.  And now this – her very own vehicle! GRACE is continually grateful for the generous partnership we have have with The Thompson Group at Classic Chevrolet Grapevine.  The Thompson group does a great job of helping to select good cars, puts them under warranty, and, in this case,

Stories of GRACE

In our line of work, there is no shortage of stories – sweet, encouraging, tragic, triumphant.  Stories of loss.  Stories of picking up the pieces.  Stories of sharing the one sandwich you have with another, turning that one sandwich into two.  Stories of lifting up others.  Stories of overcoming the gloomiest of days. As a GRACE family, we love sharing these stories with one another.  We never take for granted the awesome ways we see, hear, and are able ourselves to impart some of the grace we receive into the lives of others.  There is always so much to give even when it appears there is none left to give.  And there is always an abundance to receive at GRACE where others are standing-by, ready to lift each other up in deed, spirit and prayer. Our story today is short but oh so sweet.  Last week we received a receipt

Save the Date for Christmas Cottage 2019

It’s hard to believe that we are drawing close to the most wonderful time of the year—Christmas Cottage!  We are proud to announce the 2019 location, 1250 William D. Tate in Grapevine, between Petco and Joann Fabrics. If this location sounds familiar, it’s because it is.  Last year’s generous location donor again offered this wonderful space. For the Christmas Cottage to happen, GRACE counts on the community to help us provide for the anticipated 150 daily family members who need a little help this season. Parents essentially ‘shop’ among the new, unwrapped toys, so they can choose what would excite their children most, and wrap them under the tree. The vision is to allow children to share the same excitement on Christmas morning as any child regardless of privilege, and for parents to feel at ease knowing that despite the hardships they are facing, treasured holiday traditions can stay intact

A Great Giving Day!

The results are in, and as usual we are both humbled and blown away! Thank you for making time in your busy day to log onto the North Texas Giving Day website and make a gift, or to visit one of the many North Texas Giving Day events throughout the region and make your voice heard. This year, GRACE Family, you gave above and beyond our  goal.  That. Is. Amazing! GRACE joins dozens of other agencies in thanking all of the donors who came together for North Texas Giving Day. Your gifts make a tremendous impact on so many missions. In addition to raising funds for area charities, North Texas Giving Day also promotes volunteerism. For all of you who volunteer, give and pray for GRACE any other day of the year, your support truly guides this agency. GRACE is only the channel through which your generosity helps those in need.

Nurse Shirley: Saving GRACE

GRACE Community Clinic Nurse Manager, Shirley Roberts, hit the big time in medical supplies thanks to our Clinic’s relationship with Direct Relief, our international non-profit partner, with a value and savings of $33,895 for GRACE! Direct Relief is a humanitarian aid organization active in all 50 states and more than 80 countries.  Their mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.  GRACE is a member of Direct Relief through which we order medications and medical supplies as available and needed for our clients. Chic Happens

We had a brilliant turnout on Tuesday at our GRACE Main Campus for the Grapevine Women’s Division Style & GRACE Fashion Show!  Style & GRACE Manager, Jana McGlone, did what she does best, outfitting GRACE staff & volunteers in head-to-toe Style & GRACE fashions.  Before the show began, ladies mingled and shopped the racks of gorgeous dresses, tables of stunning jewelry and purses, and shoes galore. Pam Basiloy, Director of Resale Operations, Marsha Buckles, Style & GRACE Sales Associate, and Jana chose the best of the best – which is tough to narrow down – from their boutique to dress their models and bring Style & GRACE shopping to GRACE Main.  Attendees had the opportunity to buy the looks seen on the runway that day on the spot.  You can say we literally gave our GRACE Family the shirts right off our backs! Members of the Grapevine Women’s Division arrived
