Transitional Housing Gets a Refresh from Pegasus Logistics

The Transitional Housing site is looking a little more fresh and new after a volunteer group from Pegasus Logistics did some hard work last week! This group of eager helpers worked to install new screen doors on five units, installed Ring doorbells on all units, cleaned two empty units from top to bottom, and removed trash from around the property!  “They all had beautiful spirits,” said Martisha Smith, Transitional Housing Manager, “and after all of the work that they completed, they came back to ask if there was anything else that we needed.”  Her statement reflects on all of our wonderful volunteers that dedicate their time to all things GRACE – including projects like these! The new doorbells provide an extra sense of security, and the clean units are ready to welcome new clients. Removal of trash and new doors helps the space look clean and refreshed. It’s the little

2023 Back to School Fair a Success!

Last Saturday, on August 5th, GRACE participated in the annual Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Back to School Fair at 121 Community Church! Over the last couple of months, we have been collecting backpacks full of school supplies for this fair, and as a result were able to distribute 24 backpacks to students in need! Hundreds more will continue to be given to families that visit GRACE Client Services. Each year, this event is planned for school-aged children whose families are experiencing financial hardship and/or qualify for free or reduced lunch. Pre-registered families were able to receive a number of valuable resources before their children return to school later this month. Along with the backpacks and school supplies, GRACE was also able to distribute clothing items such as socks and underwear to hundreds of students for the new school year! We couldn’t do it alone! We had a lot of volunteers who stepped

Buttermilk Sky Pies Presents Fundraising Results

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Colleyville, owned by two GRACE supporters, Jason and Sheila Ridley, chose GRACE as the benefactor for July’s ‘Pie It Forward’ initiative. A portion of the proceeds from each peach pie sold in July (9-inch and 4-inch) went to support GRACE Back to School, which took place the first weekend of August. When asked, Sheila said “We consider it an honor to help GRACE in any way possible. The ‘Pie It Forward’ program is a small way that we can connect our community with GRACE. In the process, we have an opportunity to donate for the great work GRACE is doing providing back-to-school supplies for those in need.” Thank you Sheila and Jason for keeping GRACE close to your heart and choosing GRACE as the recipient of July’s Pie It Forward. Also, a huge thank you to our community who bought pies. Many of you enjoyed

Break Out the Clubs for 12th Annual Classic Chevrolet Charity Golf Tournament

As we continue through the summer months and edge closer to fall, we are getting excited for the 12th Annual Classic Chevrolet Charity Golf Tournament! Through this tournament, set to take place on Thursday, October 5th, Classic Chevrolet will be supporting a number of local organizations – including GRACE!  For several years now, the employees of Classic Chevrolet have been involved with the community on multiple levels and have always been encouraged by owner Tom Durant to expand on that involvement. Tom and his wife Susan put out the challenge for the employees to “raise as much as they could” for the community, and they would personally match it dollar for dollar. In 2012, a committee was formed by the employees of Classic Chevrolet to take fundraising efforts to the next level, and thus began the annual golf tournament. This golf tournament is one of the many ways Classic Chevrolet

Last Call to Meet Back 2 School Fair Goal!

The final days of summer are dwindling, and so are the days remaining to meet our supply goal for the 2023 Back to School Fair! We need your help this week more than ever to collect enough supplies before August 5th. Each year, GRACE partners with GCISD at the annual Back to School Fair. All of the participating families qualify for free and reduced lunch, which is the criteria to receive most services at the fair. For the families who also qualify for free and reduced lunch but did not register in time, GRACE steps in and fills in the gaps. Last year, GRACE was able to give filled backpacks to 300 children unable to sign up for the GCISD Fair in time. However, due to the hardships we have witnessed families experience this year, we only anticipate this number to grow! Our greatest need is donated backpacks filled with
