It’s the most wonderful time of the year—Christmas Cottage season has begun, and we are proud to announce the 2017 location, 3100 Timberline in Grapevine, near Timberline Elementary School. The program officially opens to clients on December 7, and runs through the 22, which requires hundreds of volunteer hours to prepare for the season. For the Christmas Cottage to happen, GRACE counts on the community to help us provide for the anticipated 150 daily family members who need a little help this season. Parents essentially ‘shop’ among the new, unwrapped toys, so they can choose what would excite their children most, and wrap them under the tree. The vision is to allow children to share the same excitement on Christmas morning as any child regardless of privilege, and for parents to feel at ease knowing that despite the hardships they are facing, treasured holiday traditions can stay intact for their

The treasured evening takes place each year to honor foundational sponsors, donors, and volunteers of the GRACE Gala, which allow all proceeds of the event to directly benefit GRACE programs. VIP Party host Aslam Khan is the CEO of Falcon Holdings and was recently named CEO of TGIFridays this summer. The humble host, who was born in an impoverished hamlet in Pakistan, escaped destitution by his fierce zeal for knowledge and unstoppable drive to excel. The Thompson Group at Classic Chevrolet welcomes the famed Emerald City Band at this year’s annual GRACE Gala. The 13-piece, 4-horn ensemble has performed among the most high-profile lineups, including performances with Alice Cooper, Mariah Carey and the Zac Brown Band. The group is no stranger to lavish events, having performed twice at the White House and at the Ford Motor Company, Southwest Airlines, Microsoft, Super Bowl XLV, Apple and the American Airlines Center. As of that wasn’t enough credential, the band has taken event performances to a new level and were recently recognized by the Dallas Morning News and D Magazine as “Entertainers of the Year”. Last week donors seized the opportunity to have their donations maximized by North Texas Giving Day, a cyber event that amplifies donations by a collected pool of over $2.5M for charities across North Texas. We are grateful to have received $30, 677 in donations to further GRACE programs. Once the tallies are in next month, we will know how much each donation was amplified, extending our reach to help more families across Northeast Tarrant County. Faith Christian ninth graders divided and conquered at Donation Station this week for their school’s annual “Work-a-thon”, a campaign that raises funds for the school from close friends and family for every hour of volunteer service by the students. The class split their energy between Donation Station and the Food Pantry, where they sorted food and organized items that had been donated this week. Faith Christian has a steadfast history with GRACE, whose students serve regularly on behalf of Faith or with their personal time. Throughout the years, the student body has served at GRACEful Buys, Christmas Cottage and our holiday food drives.
