Faith Christian ninth graders divided and conquered at Donation Station this week for their school’s annual “Work-a-thon”, a campaign that raises funds for the school from close friends and family for every hour of volunteer service by the students.

The class split their energy between Donation Station and the Food Pantry, where they sorted food and organized items that had been donated this week.

Faith Christian has a steadfast history with GRACE, whose students serve regularly on behalf of Faith or with their personal time. Throughout the years, the student body has served at GRACEful Buys, Christmas Cottage and our holiday food drives.

Why Resale Operations Matter

At GRACE we have been blessed with abundant resources from our community, allowing us to utilize them to meet the greatest needs. Items donated can provide warm clothing for families, furnish homes for our Transitional Housing clients, or generate revenue to sustain GRACE programs.

For this operational necessity to happen much occurs behind the scenes to sort, assess and manage the incoming item donations. Beyond giving item donations, there are several feasible ways you can serve at GRACE through Donation Station.

How you can follow Faith Christian’s example

If your schedule allows regular shifts we ask that you consider taking part in the work that is being done at Donation Station. Weekly or monthly volunteers are vital to our momentum and the success of our resale stores and programs. Volunteers are needed to be the face of GRACE and greet those dropping off item donations. All interested will receive ample training and get to work with some fantastic people.

We are grateful for Faith Christian’s loyal partnership with GRACE to shine His light in our community. Read more about Faith Christian’s teaching philosophy here.
