Gearing Up For Grocery Giveaway

Our volunteers never cease to amaze us!  Each Friday in the summer months, volunteers invest nearly 300 hours to provide families in need with tens of thousands of dollars worth of fresh produce and kitchen essentials.  Now it may sound crazy, but summer is almost here!  We are already gearing up and preparing for our huge summer programs – Feed Our Kids and Grocery Giveaway. The GRACE Grocery Giveaway campaign was born from our commitment to stewardship, one of our five core principles.  The Mobile Food Pantry began as a pilot program during the summer of 2015 to ensure perishable food items donated at the end of the week could be utilized for at-risk families to enjoy food over the weekend at the peak of their quality.  Popular demand and community support throughout the past few years have made Grocery Giveaway a GRACE tradition. The program has worked seamlessly

VITA Puts Dollars Back In Our Community’s Pockets

In partnership with United Way and the City of Fort Worth, many households in our community were able to receive free basic tax preparation through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), which took place at GRACE Main from January 28 through April 17.  The services were provided not only to alleviate the burden of tax preparation, but also to allow low to middle income families to take advantage of identified Earned Income Tax Credits, financial coaching referrals and opportunities for continued education. VITA is provided by a partnership between United Way, the City of Fort Worth and GRACE, offering 100% free-of-charge tax preparation services to families who earn less than $56,000 annually.  This program puts hard earned dollars back into the hands of the individuals who earned them.  Not only are the services free, but they have also rendered better tax benefit returns this year and in past years. GRACE’s IRS-certified

GRACE Volunteers Are EGG-cellent

Our programs are only as good as our volunteers, and the compassionate care GRACE provides to over 5,000 family members each year is only made possible by the talented, selfless, and generous volunteers from our community.  So, of course, any chance we get to celebrate our treasured volunteers we get super EGG-cited! We channeled our inner Easter Bunny spirit animal this week, and handed out goody-filled Easter eggs to our EGG-ceptional volunteers.  Most eggs were filled with sweet candy treats while a few select, EGGS-clusive eggs were filled with prize-winning gold coins!  The lucky golden coin recipients were given gift cards.  Plus, all throughout the week our various GRACE sights celebrated with pizza parties, donuts, brownies and many other treats to show their appreciation. Here at GRACE, we are in awe and humbled by the outpouring of countless hours, hard work, resources, and love from the EGGS-traordinary people who serve.

Volunteer for FÜDTRUKY: A festival of FÜD ( good •food), TÜNs ( rockin’ • tunes) and BRÜs (beer)

Nicole and Mike Tesoriero of Southlake Style are excited to invite you out to their upcoming second annual FÜDTRUKY (food-TRUCK-ee) coming to The Marq in Southlake’s Aria Amphitheater on Saturday, May 11. Last year the event raised $10,000 for GRACE, enough to supply 3,500 meals for our Feed Our Kids Program which provides lunches for children who do not have access to the free or reduced lunch program when school is not in session. For 2019 Southlake Style has set the bar even higher with the goal of raising $15,000 through the festival – enough to provide more than 5,000 nutritious lunches to area children who might otherwise go without while school is out for the summer. These lofty do-gooder goals are not possible to reach without the lending of many helping hands. There are many volunteer opportunities available. Click here to sign up for a variety of our very

Blessing Homes, Blessing Futures

We feel blessed to welcome another woman and her child into our family. Alexus and her three year old daughter, Madison, moved into their new home this past Monday, April 15. Alexus is a very driven and motivated young lady. We are so eager to welcome her into the GRACE family and assist her with achieving her goals. She is young, energetic and ready to go full speed ahead with going back to school and earning more income. She’s ready for guidance and to regain her independence. This bright woman has worked as a preschool teacher the past four years, and is eager to march into her future with optimism and tenacity.  She has her sights set on becoming a paralegal. Alexus has also long had an interest in becoming a police officer as another career path option.  Luckily for her, four of Grapevine Police Department’s finest were

Connecting Families To Hope

“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18 “Connection is what it is all about,” GRACE Chief Program Officer, Stacy Pacholick, explains.  The focus of GRACE is connecting people in need to services and resources to help.  Connections between GRACE and other organizations, volunteers, and churches make this support possible.  We are incredibly appreciative for our relationships with partnering churches and organizations who share a heart for helping others as we do. A couple of weeks ago, 121 Community Church Grapevine Local Mission Minister, Bryan Bundick, called us to discuss a situation involving a family new to the church congregation.  A single mother who recently moved to our area from out-of-state was in great need.  The mother had worked hard to prepare for her family’s relocation –  securing a job, finding a church home, and settling
