GRACE is extremely honored and excited to announce Kimberly and Brent Tipps as our 2019 Chairs for the GRACE Gala, championing sixteen outstanding years of vital program funding with event proceeds!

Kimberly grew up in Oak Park, Illinois and has now been a resident of Southlake for twenty years.  Lifelong Texan, Brent, was born and raised in Amarillo and made Tarrant County his home twenty years ago as well.  The happy couple just celebrated their first anniversary this past March, and life together keeps them ever busy and grateful.

In 2002, Brent founded the BoomerJack’s restaurant family with a single location at Casa Linda Plaza in Dallas.  Fast forward to today and the Tipp’s company now includes 13 BoomerJack’s Grill & Bar locations across the DFW area and a live-music venue, Bedford Ice House, and they are not stopping there!

Currently there are two more BoomerJack’s under construction — Fairview opening this summer — and three more signed deals.  Up and coming also is a new concept in Addison with 20,000 square feet, live music, classic games, karaoke, live sports watching, craft cocktails and a chef-driven menu.

Over 1,100 employees make up the BoomerJack’s family, not to mention the company was named a Top 100 Place to work by the Dallas Morning News not once but twice!  Our very own Gala Chair, Mr. Brent Tipps, was named 2017 Entrepreneur of Excellence by Fort Worth Magazine.

With much so success, growth and accomplishments to name, what is remarkable about Kimberly and Brent Tipps is how down to earth and humble they remain.  It’s just not all about business, what it’s truly all about is giving back.

From the very start, taking care of their community has been one of their top priorities — and as BoomerJack’s continues to grow, so do their efforts to give back.  The Tipps have supported GRACE along with six local food banks, other non-profits, the Texas Rangers Foundation, Back the Blue, and the Joan Katz Breast Center through their Tee Off for Tata’s Golf Tournament.

The business owners also love helping and watching their people grow.  BoomerJack’s has an incredibly low turnover rate which speaks volumes for the culture the Tipp’s have built.  Kimberly and Brent are grateful for their blessings that allow them to step-in to offer help in so many ways.  From helping out employees with school, computers and cars to even down payments for the big things in life, the Tipp’s are all about their people.

Family are people, too!  Kimberly and Brent are also devoted to and all about family.  They are proud of children, Graydon and Berkley, who are 18 and 14 years old respectively.  They also consider 121 Community Church as family which happens to be how the Tipps got connected with GRACE missions.

“We feel honored to be able to give back to GRACE,” Brent explains.  “Our passion with GRACE lies in the transformation that occurs when someone is empowered by GRACE to go out on their own and do it themselves.”

Finding it heartbreaking that so many people in our community, particularly children, sometimes don’t have enough to eat, Kimberly and Brent feel passionate about The Food Pantry, as obvious by their efforts with GRACE and the several other food pantries they assist.

Although 2019 marks the inaugural year in not only chairing but attending our annual Gala for the Tipps, their restaurants have hosted an event contributing proceeds from the day’s sales to GRACE, and they are looking forward to continuing to share the GRACE story with their network of friends and families with the goal of getting many on board for ongoing support.

We are honored to have the Tipps as ambassadors of the GRACE mission. The Gala promises a remarkable night filled with purpose—but it is also the party of the year!  The Gala is the single, largest fundraising event for the agency, and revenues from the event are used to fund the many programs and services offered to GRACE clients throughout the year.  Thank you, Kimberly and Brent, for dedicating yourselves to serving and welcome to the GRACE Family!
