GRACE would like to introduce our new Human Resources Coordinator, Evelyn Burch! Evelyn was raised in London, England, and has a long history of going on adventures. She is an avid traveler and urges everyone she meets to discover new things and places, as seen by her trips to Rome and her experiences in Frankfurt, Germany. Evelyn began working for GRACE in May of 2022. When she assumed the position of HR Associate, she set out to build relationships with every staff member, volunteer, and community member involved at GRACE. Her outgoing nature combined with her enthusiasm for life has given her the skills to relate to everyone she meets. Evelyn’s resume speaks volumes. Before joining GRACE, she served as the Staffing Manager at the University of Dallas, an HR Business Partner, and Corporate Recruiter for Lockheed Martin, and a member of The United States Air Force for nearly a

GRACE strongly believes in being a good steward of the community and in that, supporting our local cities’ activities, businesses, and community organizations. The 36th annual Grapefest took place this past weekend, and we are happy to say that the GRACE staff was well-represented. Grapefest included wine tastings, charcuterie workshops, a grape stomp, Champagne Cork Shoot-Off, music, art booths, food, and entertainment for the whole family. GRACE Staff was eager to volunteer and interact with the community – especially while working the beer booth next to Mainstage. Special Events Manager, Basha Ramsey, noted that “there are various opportunities for people to give back to their community. Grapefest is a fantastic way to network, volunteer, and meet new people at the same time.” Everyone had a wonderful time, and we know GRACE and our community will be ready to do it again next year!

The GRACE Community Clinic offers a variety of classes to ensure that our wonderful clients have the resources and skills to live healthy lives. Two new classes are focusing on a health-conscious lifestyle and self-care. Night of Health is a new class here at GRACE that encompasses the many ways of staying healthy. From smaller portions of food to specific exercise routines, our clients are educated on how healthy choices can transform their lives. Taught by Diabetic Educator, Antonio Miranda Ph.D., RD, LD, the goal of the class is to have a personal approach to the clients. “I want this class to impact each client in the best way possible,” said Antonio. “I want them to come out of this feeling great and motivated so that they can inspire someone else.” Night of Health will be held on the second Monday of each month starting October 10th. The Colleyville Chamber hosted it’s 34th annual Golf Classic last week and we must say, it was a nice drive down the fairway! The Colleyville Golf Classic is one of the community’s most beloved events for golfers, sponsors, and volunteers to connect with resources to grow their business while enjoying a nice day out at the golf course. This year’s Golf Classic was held at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club in Keller and drew in numerous individuals in the community including 128 golfers, 35 volunteers, and 27 sponsors, along with the event’s presenting sponsors, the City of Colleyville and Jason Ridley Agency. Chelsea Rose, CEO and President of the Colleyville Chamber, showed her gratitude by thanking all of the sponsors, volunteers, and participants for their dedication to this year’s Golf Classic and remarking that “each year the Golf Classic continues to grow because of the outstanding folks in our community.”

Similar to the traditional New Year in January, GRACE likes to celebrate in style whenever we bid farewell to one fiscal year and hello to a promising new one, and what better way to accomplish this than by holding a special monthly staff meeting that encompasses the GRACE members and board? Board members and staff were served a delicious breakfast by Scratch Kitchen to kick off the day. The hardy breakfast staples included biscuits and gravy, hash brown casserole, eggs, blueberry French toast casserole and bacon. Shonda emphasized throughout the gathering how volunteers, donors and staff have supported local families as they battle with the effects of COVID-19 on the economy. In addition, Shonda gave a year in review, highlighting the performance of each department. She reflected on the inaugural post-COVID Gala when no one anticipated the outcome of attendees, yet all exceeded expectations. She also praised the resounding success
