For others, they are off to cooler vacation spots, and for a few creative community partners including 121 Community Church, it’s celebrating Christmas in July! Though the GRACE Christmas Cottage seems like a long way off, after serving 4,260 individuals in December of 2024, the truth is that it never really left our minds. Celebrating Christmas in July allows us to specifically focus on gathering teen gifts and ensuring that parents and guardians have a unique selection when shopping for their tween or teen. So often, this selection of gifts pales in comparison to others offered to our shoppers at the cottage. GRACE does the best we can to keep the selection stocked by purchasing a variety as needed, but our

I am so grateful to be a part of that GRACE family.” And a part of the family Jina Walker has become as she completes her first year of service as the new (not so new) Chief Program Officer of GRACE. Jina started with GRACE in her new role in August of 2024, but she is no stranger to providing grace and compassion to those who are struggling and in need of a little helping hand. With over 12 years of experience in social service programming including outreach, housing, and emergency assistance, Jina brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. She is the very definition of the phrase “hit the ground running” and within her first year she has already made some

The affordable housing shortage has become one of the most pressing challenges facing our community, and GRACE is working to meet this need head-on. In 2024 we opened a new housing program focused on families emerging from financial emergencies, and earlier this year we added a second initiative to serve households with more complex or long‑term needs. Both programs are anchored in the belief that housing is the starting point for lasting self‑sufficiency. To help renters keep their homes once they move in, GRACE introduced RentSmart, a skills‑based course that teaches tenants how to communicate with landlords, understand lease responsibilities, and make on‑time payments—reducing costly violations for everyone involved. The next piece of the puzzle is stronger collaboration with property owners. On Wednesday, July 9, from 1:00–3:00 PM, GRACE and Grapevine Outreach will

But, what about those affected by others trying to cut expenses? What if it was a slow week for a small business owner? Or, what if a private practice experiences too many cancellations? GRACE is here for these situations too. This month, GRACE was visited by a Registered Behavior Technician who has dedicated her time and skill to working with autistic children. She has a successful practice, and yet, this month she was struggling to make ends meet. Perhaps it was the excitement surrounding the end of the school year or the beautiful weather outside. Maybe her client wasn’t feeling well or their family was having to make necessary budget cuts of their own. For all those reasons and more, this therapist had experienced too many cancellations in recent
