The GRACE Family is excited to introduce our new Resale Manager for GRACEful Buys Grapevine, Julie Ashby.
As manager, Julie is in charge of the entire store – all its employees, volunteers, and general sales. It’s a big job but she’s used to managing complex operations and a lot of people.
“Before I came to GRACE, I was Director of Food Service for Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, managing six cafes and feeding 5,000 to 8,000 people a day… all by 1:00 pm,” said Julie.
“I’ve spent my whole career in the food service industry, but I wanted a change. I saw the job online and thought it would be a great fit.”
GRACEful Buys is her first job in retail but she says that she’s excited for the future.
“I was surprised by how great everyone here is…we have an awesome team already in place, all I have to do is help them move forward,” Julie said. “The customers are wonderful, I’m really excited to be here.”
Originally from California, Julie moved to Texas five years ago to be close to her grandkids, Bowden who is three and Sadie who is seven. Julie also got married recently and is planning a big wedding reception in Las Vegas!
“I’m an OCD clean freak, so it’s tough in a resale shop this dynamic because there’s never two of the same thing, and our products move so quickly…I’m trying to utilize my OCD to help organize,” Julie said laughing.
“But GBG is teaching me to relax my OCD tendencies, so that’s good. I’m having a great time here.”
Julie lives in Keller, and when she’s not hanging out with her grandkids, she can be found playing soccer.
