Friends, family, customers, volunteers, and staff say goodbye to Style & GRACE
Friends, family, customers, volunteers, and staff all joined together on Tuesday to celebrate the end of our boutique, Style & GRACE with a farewell brunch. Attendees shopped, snacked, and reminisced about the store that has served the community and the GRACE family so well over the years.
The store closing is part of a strategic move to help better serve the organization and its customers.
“Each of the GRACEful Buys stores will now have their own boutique area for gowns, top labels, designer fashions, shoes, and accessories. Much of the jewelry and collectibles will make their way onto the GRACEful-E site,” said Jennifer Rawls, GRACE Resale Director.
As for Tuesday’s sendoff, Jennifer said, “It’s important to recognize the staff and volunteers for all the hard work they did over here. It’s bittersweet, but closing this store really shows how agile we are as an organization and I’m proud of that. I can’t thank Jana [McGlone], Marsha {Buckles], and Manon [Kelly] enough for what they put into the store.”
Longtime store manager Jana McGlone was celebrated and given a beautiful framed drawing of the store to commemorate her time as leader of the fashion boutique that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years for GRACE programs and clients.
“I’m thankful to all the dedicated and loyal customers and volunteers but this mission is not going to stop simply because this store is closing. The mission will never stop. We are going to continue this GRACE mission.” Jana said as she addressed the crowd.
Jana is now at the Grapevine GRACEful Buys shopping center, a place she know very well.
“One of my first jobs at GRACE was with the Grapevine store so it’s good to be back. I love the customer service and interaction here, and I know that a lot of my Style & GRACE customers and volunteers are going to come over here which is great,” said Jana.
“It’s just a transition, and I’ll go wherever God needs me to go. GRACE is my life, I’ve been here 15 years, so I plan to retire here and then after that I’ll volunteer!”, she said laughing.
The GRACE Family is sad to see Style & GRACE close its doors but this is not good-bye–as Jana said it’s just a transition. The store’s excellent inventory of stylish and upscale clothing are moving to GRACEful Buys so please stop by and pick up some haute couture today!
