Just in time for Mother’s Day, the men’s group at Good Shepherd Community Church decided to pay it forward in honor of the mother figures who made a profound impact on their lives.
Proceeds from the group’s annual Casino Night went to support causes that were meaningful to the group, including a $1,000 donation support our Friends & Family program.
At any given time, our Friends & Family network is comprised of approximately 85% women; often grandmothers and widows whose children live out of state or are unable to properly care for them.
Showing compassion to the elderly population locally provides commodities, medical attention and companionship to seniors who are isolated, immobile and struggling with a very limited income.
Many volunteers and supporters whose loved ones live far away feel assurance that someone is tending to their family members the way they are caring for others where they live.
If you would like to make a Friends & Family online gift in honor of your mother or a mother figure, GRACE will send a card showing that a gift has been made in her honor.
The giving page will prompt you to enter the name and address of the individual you wish to recognize. All Mother’s Day gifts must be submitted by April 29 to ensure a card is received by Mother’s Day.
