Members from the First United Methodist Church of Grapevine came together to feed children in need in our community. First United has historically been one of the most supportive partners for our Feed Our Kids Program, and this year has been no exception.
Together, volunteers took over all six sites for one week, delivering and serving 3,457 lunches during the course of the week!
The logistics behind this effort are tremendous, with food preparation for so many at one time.
Volunteers worked hard to prepare, pack and provide these lunches, and then braved the heat to deliver and serve them.
It is fairly customary for a group to take on a full week at any one site. And it is not unusual for some groups, like the National Charity League chapter in Southlake, to take on
a single location over multiple weeks.
But to serve all six sites for a full week is truly exceptional! These amazing go-getters not only provide lunches to area children in need, but also create fun summertime memories for hundreds of kids and families.

As of last Saturday, Feed Our Kids has served 19,222 lunches during the first six weeks! We have four weeks left to go!
