The story is quickly becoming legend. In 2002, a single location with a compelling concept—a counter service restaurant specializing in [very] flavorful chicken wings—carved a niche in the Dallas sports and entertainment scene.

In the same hometown as legends like Brinker and Romano, Brent Tipps did them one better: he actually founded and built his BoomerJack’s empire right here in the DFW area.

To-date, in just over twenty years, Brent has developed 16 restaurants, along with an upscale lounge, Sidecar Social in Addison, and a live-music venue, the Bedford Ice House. Now he’s taking the exciting BoomerJack’s experience down the road with two locations going up in Houston.

Brent was named the 2017 Entrepreneur of Excellence by Fort Worth Magazine, and with over 2,000 employees, his company has been named a Top 100 Place to work by the Dallas Morning News four times.

“From the beginning,” said Brent, “taking care of the community had been one of our top priorities. As our restaurants have grown, so have our efforts to give back.” In addition to supporting the GRACE Mission, BoomerJack’s supports four area food banks, the Texas Rangers Foundation, Back The Blue, 6 Stones, and the Joan Katz Breast Center.

Ever since Kimberly and Brent Tipps chaired the GRACE Gala in 2019, BoomerJack’s has been at the top of the Gala’s Sponsor Board. This year, they expanded their support as a “King of Hearts” sponsor of the GRACE Poker Tournament.

This all comes at a very exciting—and very busy time—for all the folks at BoomerJack’s. The organization is building into the local professional sports franchises including locations in or around Globe Life Park, AT&T Stadium, and The Star in Frisco.

Even though BoomerJack’s is literally in a much higher league now, their support of GRACE continues. Just this past week, twenty-six general managers from BoomerJack’s properties took a bus tour of GRACE locations including Transitional Housing, GRACE Main Offices, the Community Clinic, Food Pantry, and Donation Station.

This summer, BoomerJack’s locations across DFW will be running special promotions to support the GRACE mission. Kimberly and Brent arranged this unprecedented bus tour to acquaint their general managers with GRACE, and the important work GRACE does to help those in need.

More than two dozen women and men, many wearing the familiar BoomerJack’s logoed shirts, with Kimberly and Brent front and center, listened intently to GRACE Client Services Manager Eliza Marentes, MSW, as she relayed story-after-story of the impact GRACE has on the families in our area.

Transitional Housing’s Martisha Smith and Rene Oldfield tag-teamed the group as they toured through one of the Transitional Housing apartments. Resale Director Jennifer Rawls, and Donation Station Manager Brian Matthews, showed off the new Donation Station facility on Texan Trail.

The commitment shown by BoomerJack’s—releasing their general managers to spend a morning at GRACE—is exemplary. We are so grateful to everyone at BoomerJack’s who has taken the GRACE mission on as one of their causes. We are especially thankful for Kimberly and Brent Tipps for keeping GRACE in their prayers and on the top of their minds as they continue their remarkable—and legendary—journey.
