While attending an event at Good Shepard Church in Colleyville recently, Kathy Hy and her husband Cary placed an auction bid for some new home windows with the intention of making a difference.

The Hy’s won the auction and received 20, brand new, high-quality windows with installation, and they knew immediately what they were going to do with them.

“We knew when we bid that we wanted to do something good with the windows and GRACE was the first thing that came to mind,” said Kathy. “We’ve always supported GRACE because we know they work to help our community.”

Once GRACE was contacted our team at Client Services jumped into action and found worthy recipients for the windows.

“We were able to find three Friends & Family clients who were delighted to be asked,” said Christine Szymaszek, GRACE Friends & Family Program Coordinator.

“Ms. Toni Dillard is 69 years old and will receive 11-12 windows. The Cox family, she is 63 and he is a 59 year old quadriplegic, will receive 6 windows. Ms. Scroggins, a 74 years old, will receive 2-3 windows. This unique gift will have such an impact, it’s fantastic.”

This gift is a perfect example of the selfless and creative gifts that make our clients lives better. Donations like these are like a puzzle, and putting the pieces together to make a beautiful picture is what our Client Services team does best.

“We live in Grapevine and do what we can to support those in the community that need help,” Kathy said. “We love GRACE and knew that these windows would be quickly put to good use. We’re so glad to help.”
