gg-2An essential substance that provides nutrients needed to live and grow, food is fuel. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same access to this much needed substance. Healthy and affordable food has long been an issue for low-income communities nationwide. According to the Tarrant Area Food Bank, 25% of children in the area come from families that live with uncertainty about their next meal.

To help ease this uncertainty, GRACE Grocery Giveaway launched in the summer of 2015. Over the years, this program has distributed over $184,000 worth of fresh food to families in need.

Starting the first week of June and running throughout the summer, GRACE Grocery Giveaway will be making appearances at different Feed Our Kids sites, every Thursday. Participants are offered an astounding variety of meat, milk, eggs, and fresh produce to help provide nutritious meals for their homes.

GRACE can provide services like these because of our dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers are in charge of unloading the trucks, arranging the food distribution, and passing out food to families. If you are looking for a way to give back this summer, this is a great opportunity.
