Last year, our VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program reached close to 400 families whose income fell under $56,000.  The importance of this program cannot be emphasized enough!  This program helps low-to-moderate income families to claim all the tax credits for which they are eligible including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credits (CTC).  The tax returns were completed by trained volunteers who truly make this program possible.  Families who often struggle to meet their basic needs do not have to pay expensive fees to have their tax returns completed and monies that they qualify for are not left on the table.

We need your help!  On Saturday, Nov. 2nd from 10:00am to 11:00 am, GRACE is hosting an information meeting for anyone who might be interested in volunteering for VITA.  Beginning January 27th, 2020, GRACE will open its doors to families and individuals needing their tax returns completed.  United Way and the City of Ft. Worth train volunteers for several important positions including tax preparers, interpreters, greeters and intake specialists to prepare them for the tax return time period.  In addition, the City of Ft. Worth is looking to hire two key positions:  GRACE Site Coordinator and a GRACE Intake Specialist.  If you think you might be interested in any of these positions, please attend this meeting.
