LoadingNext week our executive director Shonda Schaefer will send many of you a message of thanks, hope and rescue to your homes.

You’ll learn about Sherry who had been struggling through a violent and treacherous family situation for four years, and is only now beginning to see the light at the end of her dark, dark tunnel, thank to GRACE and the counseling and support she has received.

It is gratifying to know GRACE could serve the needs that Sherry has, but Shonda’s central message is that you—those in the community who support the GRACE mission—are the reason GRACE could serve her and the thousands who have stories of hopelessness and need just like Sherry.

When a family is struggling with a crisis, a loss of a job, an illness or some other catastrophe, support of any kind is a Godsend. While GRACE provides the assistance in the form of food, clothing, financial assistance, healthcare and other support—GRACE is only the channel through which the generosity of our community flows from those whose blessings are many to those less fortunate.

“I feel incredibly blessed and extremely humble to constantly witness this in action,” said Shonda. “Thousands of people tell me how thankful they are and I want to share that warm feeling with our supporters and volunteers who make it all happen.”

Shonda’s message will be an expression of the satisfaction and pride of providing relief to those in need. Additionally we will be asking donors to renew their compassion for their neighbors and friends who have fallen on bad times.

“Gifts to GRACE help so many people in so many different ways,” said Shonda. “The appreciation coming from our clients are not ours alone—they belong to all who support our programs and services.”

Shonda’s message will be coming to your mailbox in the next few days. Please take a moment to read her letter and consider sharing your blessings with thousands in our community who are in need.

If we miss your mailbox for some reason, please go to GIVE TO GRACE and select “I received a Thanksgiving Letter” when asked “What Prompted You to Give.”

Your support is so very needed at this time of year. Thanks for all you do.
