We are counting down to our annual 24 Hours of GRACE fundraiser. On Tuesday, March 26th this annual campaign will ask you to make a gift to GRACE and send the request on to your friends. The success of the campaign depends on the efforts of donors who help the message go “viral.”
Last year, 24 Hours of GRACE was successful enough to help fund GRACE services through the start of the summer months. We ask for you to be a campaigner for GRACE and spread the word about 24 Hours of GRACE to your friends!
Please know there are many reasons to send $25, $50, $100 or more to help those in need in our community. Individuals with stories like our client, who we will call Mr. Brown for anonymity sake.
Mr. Brown, age 70, came to GRACE in July of 2018. At this time he had no insurance. He began in our Community Clinic for basic care (HBP meds) when we discovered he had cataracts. Through partnerships with The Clinic, Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth & GRACE Friends & Family Program volunteers, he was able to have cataract surgery and receive prescription appropriate eye glasses.
Further assistance by GRACE Friends & Family volunteers and staff enabled Mr. Brown to sign-up for appropriate health insurance, find and establish himself with a primary care doctor, and even find dental insurance so that he was then able to visit the dentist. Mr. Brown also utilizes the Friends & Family Program for monthly commodities, as well as GRACE Pantry and our GRACEful Buys resale store for food and clothing, respectively.
Here are a few more reasons to give:
- The GRACE Community Clinic had nearly 10,000 patient visits in the last three years, and doctors, nurses and other medical professionals volunteered more than 9,800 hours of their time.
- More than 15,000 individuals from nearly 5,300 families were served by GRACE in the last three years, and received more than 81,000 services.
- Over the last three years, GRACE provided $924,329 in Transitional Housing costs; and $5,812,691 in Emergency Assistance costs.
We hope to build on last year’s 24 Hours of GRACE success, and that we can reach even more people this year with your help!

Keep a look out for a message from our Chief Executive Officer, Shonda Schaefer, as she expresses her appreciation for your gift and your work in getting others to support the GRACE mission. Then, when 24 Hours of GRACE arrives on Tuesday, please give generously and ask your friends to do the same.
