Paving A Road to Stability

About a month ago, Martin’s wife lost her job at a local retail store. Even though he worked full-time, they were already struggling and now started to fall further behind. With three children, one of whom is autistic, and their only vehicle was recently repossessed, things looked hopeless. They needed reliable transportation in order for Martin to keep his job since it was now their only source of income. So, they came to GRACE.

After meeting with a care manager, Martin and his family were informed they qualified for housing assistance and that the next month of rent would be covered. They also were going to be given access to the Food Pantry with the intention that these offset expenses would help the household find more of a financial footing. With this relief, Martin is now able to begin planning to get back his repossessed car.

The assistance Martin and his family received was a short-term solution. Their future remains uncertain, but with GRACE’s help, they will continue their path back toward self-sufficiency.
