Volunteers from our community are intentionally paired with seniors lacking essential help and companionship.
Participants are given assistance with everyday tasks, whether it’s a ride to a doctor appointment, tidying up, or getting groceries.
Beyond meeting material needs, our goal is to eliminate loneliness and improve overall quality of life for clients.
Connect with a Care Manager to discuss joining Friends & Family. Individuals seeking senior assistance must reside in the GRACE service area and meet criteria to be eligible for services.
For the fastest response and to determine your eligibility, schedule an appointment below and upload the necessary documents prior to your visit. Walk-ins are available between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday and one Saturday each month, but scheduling appointments is strongly encouraged.
More often than we realize, seniors face isolation, hunger and a poor quality of life simply because they are hesitant to accept help or have no loved ones close by. With the support from a network of community partners and volunteers, Friends & Family works to preserve the dignity of isolated or disabled seniors by helping them live independently in their homes for as long as possible.
Monthly commodities deliveries, home visits or weekly calls from a volunteer match, and transportation to get medical assistance are just a few of the services this program offers. Participants are also connected to resources within and outside of GRACE.
“We just got our commodities, and there’s a lovely card from Joyce Wallace saying that the First Baptist Church from Grapevine is praying for us. We really appreciate the prayers. We’ve got a lot of health issues right now…that message assists exactly what we need…thank you.”
