Meet Anika.
Anika came to GRACE seeking utility assistance, but as she met with her care manager the true nature of her struggles came out. A few months back, Anika and her husband had made plans to move to Texas with their three-year-old daughter. Everything was arranged, Anika arrived here in Texas with their daughter with her husband to follow a few days later, but he never did. She had tried in vain to reach him. He no longer returned her calls, her texts were left on read, and she hadn’t heard from him since. She and her daughter were on their own.
Still in shock, Anika was able to secure a remote job so she could work while looking after her daughter. She had been able to make it so far, but falling behind on her utility bill was creating pressure she could not handle.
GRACE covered her utilities as she requested and offered more assistance, but Anika felt confident that this one time assistance was all she needed as she built a brand-new life for herself and her daughter as a newly single mother.
Anika knew no one in the area, but because of support like yours, now she knows she has GRACE.
