Matthew 9:36 – “When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
As we reflect on the past quarter, we are reminded that every day brings opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. In Matthew 9:36, we see the heart of Jesus on full display. When He looked at the crowds, He was moved with compassion. He saw people who were weary, burdened, and searching for hope.
Today, that same need exists all around us. Behind every smile may be a struggle we cannot see. Families face financial challenges, individuals battle loneliness, and many are searching for encouragement and direction. Yet God continues to work through ordinary people who are willing to show compassion and extend His love.
That compassion is at the heart of the mission of GRACE. Every day, individuals and families in our community face challenges such as food insecurity, housing instability, medical concerns, financial hardship, and unexpected life circumstances. While their situations may differ, one thing remains the same: each person deserves to be seen, valued, and treated with dignity.
Compassion begins with seeing others as Jesus sees them. It means taking time to listen, offering a word of encouragement, extending grace, and meeting needs whenever we can. Through the generosity of donors, the dedication of volunteers, and the commitment of staff, GRACE has the privilege of putting that compassion into action. Whether providing food, clothing, shelter, medical assistance, help with bills, or simply offering hope during a difficult season, each act of service reminds our neighbors that they are not alone.
As we enter a new quarter, let us continue to be a community marked by compassion, generosity, and hope. Thank you to everyone who has partnered with GRACE over the past few months. Your support is making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we are reflecting the love of Christ and helping to meet both practical and spiritual needs throughout our community.
May we continue to follow Christ’s example by seeing others through His eyes and responding with hearts full of compassion. Small acts of kindness can have an eternal impact, and every opportunity to serve is an opportunity to share God’s love.
