Kristina Davis (002)

Kristina Davis joins the GRACE family as our new Grant Writer.

The GRACE family is very pleased to welcome Kristina Davis as our new Grant Writer. Her duties include creating strong relationships with local, regional, and national funders that support the kind of essential services GRACE provides.

Kristina started with GRACE last October but her connection and involvement goes back as far as her childhood.

The Grapevine native says that she remembers bringing donations to GRACE with her mother. Her mother also served as a volunteer translator for the Community Clinic when clinical sessions were being held at a local church.

She excitedly talked about her family shopping at the GRACE resale stores.

“My mom and I pretty much furnished all our homes over the years through GRACEful Buys,” she said. “But whenever we were done with those items we always recycled them back to Donation Station.”

After high school, Kristina was awarded a vocal performance scholarship to Oklahoma Baptist University—a prestigious honor and a wonderful opportunity. After 2 years, she sought additional depth in her education and changed her major to Biblical Studies.

Kristina also made a move back to the Lone Star State. “I decided I’d had enough of Oklahoma,” she said. “I transferred to Dallas Baptist University—I’m a very proud alum. I love DBU!”

For a few years after graduation Kristina worked customer service and administrative positions around the Metroplex but even a successful job in Downtown Dallas left her wanting more.

“I wanted a job I could be passionate about, so I put my application in at GRACE,” she said.

After an initial interview for a different position, the staff kept her in mind and offered her the grant writer’s job. The only problem? She had no experience with writing grants.

“It was tricky, because I wanted to work for GRACE but I didn’t have the experience I felt I needed,” she said. “The staff was very encouraging and believed in me so much. GRACE took a chance on me and it’s been God’s favor. I’m very thankful for that.”

Kristina says that she loves working on grants, helping to tell the story of GRACE and to craft its future.

“My family has always said that God has his hands on GRACE, and I think that’s evident now more than ever,” said Kristina. “It’s an honor to work with an organization with this kind of history and reputation.”

Kristina lives with her Pit-Boxer mix Honey, sings with her Worship Team at church, and loves to bake chocolate chip cookies—something we here at GRACE absolutely adore because she shares them with us!

Please feel free to reach out and welcome Kristina at 817-305-4651.
