The GRACE contingent at last night’s Grapevine Chamber Awards joined in congratulating “Business Hall of Fame” winners Alan Kunst and Ralph Mattison from Sloan  & Williams Winery.

The Grapevine Chamber of Commerce awarded GRACE nominee Sloan & Williams Winery with its “Business Hall of Fame” award at last night’s awards banquet.

Denim in all shapes and colors and lots of bling were present at the 61st Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Annual Community Awards Banquet. The event, held at the Hilton DFW Lakes’ Texas Grande Ballroom, invited guests to dress “denims and diamonds” and nearly everyone was happy to oblige.

Grapevine’s own country troubadour Rocky Gribble served as master of ceremonies, and Esparza’s Restaurante Mexicano’s Steve Brown held down the podium until turning his gavel over to incoming chairman LeAnn Brown of Silver Oak Commercial Realty.

GRACE was well represented among those nominated for the seven competitive awards. GRACE Community Clinic Nurse Manager Shirley Roberts and Board Member Steve Haley were both nominated for the Don Ramey Community Spirit award, with Steve, the general manager of Hilton DFW Lakes emerging as the winner. Shirley was also nominated in the Ambassador of the Year category.

GRACE Board member Susie Howell, with Frost Bank, and perennial GRACE Gala Auction volunteer and CPA, Traci Coy, went head-to-head for Women’s Division, Woman of the Year honors.

Wright Construction’s Kindal Wright Kreamer, a member of the GRACE Board of Directors, was honored with a Rising Star nomination. And Sam Pack’s Five Star Subaru faced strong competition in the Member of the Year category. The eventual winner was Grapevine Mills Mall and Joe Szymaszek, husband of GRACE Friends & Family manager Christine Szymazek.

In truth, the list of nominees sounded like a Who’s Who of GRACE volunteers and supporters. Many introductions for the winners mentioned their involvement with GRACE as one of the contributing factors in their exemplary service to the Grapevine community.

GRACE was intensely proud to nominate Sloan & Williams Winery founders Alan Kunst and Ralph Mattison for their generous support of the GRACE mission, and all they do in the community to make Grapevine a great place to live. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners.
