Shabbat Shalom

GRACE CEO Shonda Schaefer makes a strong point about the need for expanded community services during Shabbat Services last Friday at the synagogue of Congregation Beth Isreal.

Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker and Congregation Beth Israel bid all “Shabbat Shalom” last Friday, December 13.

A day of rest was welcomed by all including GRACE chief executive Shonda Schaefer and Jewish Family Services director Carole Rogers.

Shonda and Dr. Rogers joined Rabbi Charlie in a deep discussion on the community needs they witness in their agencies. Topics ranged from hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence to collaborations with other agencies, corporations, and public organizations.

Much like GRACE, Jewish Family Services (JFS) provides financial assistance for those in need, counseling and case management, information and referrals, a program for seniors, and holiday assistance.

And also like GRACE, JFS is a beneficiary of the annual Casino Night held by the CBI Brotherhood. The seventh annual casino night is set for Saturday, January 11, at the Good Shepherd Parish Hall, 1000 Tinker Road in Colleyville. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

To all of our wonderful friends at Beth Israel a very hardy Happy Hanukkah!
