GRACE facilitates a unique program that gives clients the opportunity to be wise stewards of their tax returns to serve their family long term.

In partnership with United Way and the City of Fort Worth, the free on-site service yields allotted returns that would have likely been left undiscovered without a costly tax service. This is especially important to qualifying families (those with a combined income of less than $54,000) likely living paycheck to paycheck.

Perhaps the most engaging aspect of the process is access to educational opportunities at GRACE, including job training, financial coaching, budgeting, ESL classes and GED resource referrals.

“The value of this service could not be overstated,” notes GRACE Director of Programs Stacy Pacholick, “Not only are full refunds rightfully given back to the citizens who paid them; the dividends of a teachable moment are boundless.”

Opportunities for higher learning give clients the confidence to increase their earning potential and put their best foot forward in the community to achieve self-sufficiency, a dream GRACE has for all its clients.

Last year the program met unparalleled success, with a 100% increase of returns in comparison to the prior year, translating into more families equipped with means to cover rent, utilities and savings for the future. The percentage of EITC returns exceeded the national average by 10%, leading to a healthier economy and stronger family units.
