One Safe Place1

The “Imagine No Violence” Gallery at One Safe Place contains many drawings and paintings like this from victims of domestic violence.

One Safe Place, a comprehensive crime prevention agency, has started providing coordinated services full-time at GRACE.

The agency provides services to victims of domestic violence and their children including danger assessment, safety planning, service planning, and referrals to more than 20 One Safe Place partner agencies.

This is the first time in its history One Safe Place has reached beyond its Fort Worth-based center to establish full-time services. Client Services Specialists from One Safe Place will be available at GRACE 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The agency has been a strong partner with GRACE for many years. One Safe Place provided services on a virtual “on-call” basis when GRACE officed at the Shady Brook location. When GRACE moved to its new location on East Walnut Street in 2018, One Safe Place began scheduling intake and services specialists one day a week.

Since that time GRACE caseworkers have been scheduling clients needing One Safe Place services on that single day. This new, deeper partnership significantly opens up appointment scheduling and provides time for walk-in services, as well.

This effort is part of an emerging GRACE initiative to focus on providing a continuum of care for its clients.

GRACE has long served victims of domestic violence, especially among clients seeking relief through its Transitional Housing program. Its work with One Safe Place over the past few years has shown the extent of domestic violence within the community at large.

GRACE has evolved over its history to respond to community needs as they arise. The operations of the GRACE Community Clinic and Food Pantry were established to address a lack of services in northeast Tarrant County. Likewise, Emergency Assistance, Clothing Room, Senior Services, Children’s Programs and Transitional Housing came about because of needs in the community.

Now, GRACE is intensely proud to lock elbows with One Safe Place in an effort to confront domestic violence and abuse. For more information about GRACE Client Services and the One Safe Place partnership, contact Stacy Pacholick at 817-305-4636.
