A shouted call of “O-19” brought Designer Bags & Bingo to a sudden halt.
Of course, bingo aficionados know there is no such thing as “O-19”. The number 19 is in the “I” section and the “O” section is numbered 61 through 75. And this is just a weak attempt at making light of the tragic circumstances controlling our lives at the moment.
The horrible Outbreak of COVID-19 has cancelled or postponed nearly all activities and social events. Our prayers are with all those suffering with the coronavirus, or on the frontlines with our medical heroes fighting the disease.
Now, you can add the GRACE Designer Bags & Bingo (DB&B) to that long, long list of rescheduled events. DB&B was originally planned for Thursday, April 23. It will now take place on Thursday, July 16.
“We are so sorry for the inconvenience this has caused,” said GRACE CEO Shonda Schaefer. “Hopefully, by mid-July this [pandemic] will be over and Designer Bags & Bingo will give us a good way to celebrate.”
The managers at Park Place Jaguar Land Rover DFW in Grapevine have reworked their schedules to accommodate DB&B in their beautiful showroom, and caterer extraordinaire Ted Bilsky at Scratch Kitchen has cleared his calendar to serve that evening.
“Our thanks for sticking with us,” said Shonda. “Making a schedule change like this is a hardship, I know.”
Shonda also thanked the many sponsors, guests, and volunteers who were planning to attend this sold-out event. She hopes that everyone who had intended to come at the original time will be able to join us for the rescheduled date.
