Alyssa Tenorio (2nd from left) presents a gift to GRACE Chief Executive Officer Shonda Schaefer (r) and Director of Community Engagement Lara Hohweiler. The gift was a part of the proceeds of the NorthGate Constructors golf tournament in May.

If you’ve driven anywhere around Grapevine, you’ve seen their trucks and their handiwork. NorthGate Constructors is the firm behind the $1 billion DFW Connector Project that designed and built eight-and-a-half miles of new roads in Grapevine, Southlake and Irving.

The project has doubled the size of the existing highway system around the north entrance to DFW International Airport. Last Monday, NorthGate Constructors broke ground on its newest project: a $370 million makeover of the I-635 and Highway 121 interchange in Grapevine.

The project will widen and reconstruct the interchange, providing smoother entrances and exits and adding more lanes for drivers. Work will begin next month.

In May members of NorthGate Constructors and their affiliates met at Bear Creek Country Club for a day of well-deserved fun, relaxation and charity.

The annual golf tournament raised funds for local agencies including GRACE. This week Alyssa Tenorio, the public information manager for NorthGate Constructors presented a gift of $20,000 to GRACE.

Thanks to everyone who was a part of the tournament, and to everyone who has helped make commutes in the Grapevine area safer and quicker.
