House of Mo3

Monica Housewright celebrates one year in Grapevine tomorrow, Saturday, July 18.

Thank You, Monica Housewright, for thinking of GRACE and including us in your First Anniversary Celebration! Monica’s House of Mo Boutique, 120 South Main Street, will come alive with music, margaritas, and hot dogs tomorrow, Saturday, July 18. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with live music kicking in at noon.

Monica’s journey is an entrepreneurial how-to! She grew up in North Richland Hills and moved to New York City after college to build a career in marketing. Her fashion senses were excited by the diversity and creativity she found in Manhattan neighborhoods.

“I fell in love with the city,” said Monica. “Especially the unique items I found in small clothing boutiques sprinkled throughout!”

When she moved back to Texas to raise her family, she tapped into these sensibilities to launch a small online clothing site in the Spring of 2017. It quickly gained popularity and she expanded to a bricks-and-mortar shop in Colleyville.

Her business model, marketing background, and experience with her online branch served her very well in a boutique setting.

“I listened and learned what my customers liked,” she said. “And then I handpicked trendy, boutique-style clothing and accessories.” The convenience of shopping in the boutique or online from home helped Monica build a loyal base of customers and word-of-mouth did the rest.

By May 2019, she was at a crossroads: continue with her current shop, or expand into a new location.

“We took a giant leap of faith and opened in our beautiful new Downtown Grapevine location,” she said. “I love what I do and my “why” and goal for what I do every day is to empower women with the confidence to feel and look beautiful in their own skin.”

On Saturday, nearly to the day of her opening last year, Monica celebrates her first anniversary in Grapevine. In addition to the very unique combination of free margaritas and hot dogs, she will mount an upcycled jewelry trunk show, and offer prizes and gifts galore.
