No single article can tell fully the impact of GRACE in our community this year. But this year, as every year, the conclusion is the same: YOU are GRACE and it’s your support that drives the GRACE mission forward.
Except for the GRACE News, so much has happened at GRACE in 2016 that all other sources can only touch on the highlights of another wonderful year serving the community through the GRACE mission.
The GRACE Feed Our Kids program served 36,574 meals and the GRACE Grocery Giveaway served an additional 3,195 people (690 families) during the Summer of 2016.
The GRACE Client Choice Food Pantry provided nutritious food to 7,702 people, while gardening volunteers harvested 3,154 pounds of fresh produce for them.
The GRACE Outreach to Health Community Clinic provided healthcare and life-sustaining health education to 3,183 patients who otherwise would have had no other access to care outside of local hospital emergency rooms. Medical professionals—doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists and others—served 3,563 volunteer hours treating GRACE clients.
The GRACE Clothing Room outfitted 3,953 clients and distributed 1,993 clothing packets for children, 2,581 pairs of children’s shoes, and 726 children’s winter coats.
The GRACE Christmas Cottage made Christmas a joyous time for 2,495 children and youth in 663 families.
GRACE Transitional Housing gave homes, life-skills training and new opportunities to 34 adults and 18 children, all of whom were under the focused direction and attention of our GRACE Transitional Housing counselors.
In total, GRACE expended $3,248,176 in program services, including $2,729,482 in direct assistance, of which, $1,790,263 was for emergency assistance to those in immediate need.
Last on the list, but first always in the hearts of those we serve: GRACE Volunteers served 61,697 hours in assisting these, and all the other programs and services of the GRACE mission.
Thanks to all!!
