Our very own Executive Director Shonda Schaefer was a headlining performer in last Saturday’s Dancing for the Stars, a competitive dancing production hosted by Rotary Club of Colleyville to support their beneficiaries, including GRACE.
The event took a cue from television’s Dancing with the Stars with nine local celebrity contestants paired with professional dancers—except in this case the audience members were the judges! Additional votes were available for purchase, along with a brilliant raffle prize for a custom piece of jewelry valued at $5,000. The evening’s ticket proceeds will fund assistance to families in crisis through GRACE programs.
Professional dancer Vince Duhon whisked Shonda on the dance floor and stole the lively crowd’s affections with a cheeky foxtrot number. In the end GRACE supporter Mimi Tran won the People’s Choice Award, and Dewayne Smart of Smart Realty took home the gold for an unforgettable dance that involved a backhoe and tear-apart overalls (and who can compete with that?)

The Colleyville chapter has shown faithful dedication to our local community by sharpening business professionals and spurring them into benevolence in the cities where they live and work. They have forged strong partnerships with education initiatives, civic duty support, and relief for families in crisis through GRACE. The chapter funds scholarships and global initiatives, such as clean water in Honduras and wheelchairs in Mexico.
