We asked Style & GRACE Manager Jana McGlone to share a few insights about their shop around the corner. Here are five things you might be surprised to learn about your local upscale resale boutique.
- The VIP Treatment
Often times a bond is created at the register because the volunteers and staff give this boutique an infectious quality that makes customers want to come back. Volunteers are known by name and often know the names of the regular customers.
“We take great personal pride in customer experience. First time shoppers are often surprised that we carry resale because our shop is so clean and organized,” says Style & GRACE Manager Jana McGlone.
- Many designer items still have tags
Style & GRACE’s biggest seller is their fantastic jewelry selection. The store keeps a running inventory of Brighton, Chico’s and James Avery, along with vintage pieces and jewelry sets for every occasion.
The boutique has been known to receive designer handbags with the tags still on them, often retailing from $100 to $500.
- Style & GRACE takes special requests
The store manages a running wish lists for special requests and brand names. The volunteer and staff will be on the lookout for a particular item or handbag and call the customer when just the right piece comes in.
“It brings us great joy to meet a need that makes a customer feel special, notes Jana, “I even have men on the list for Robert Graham, Bugatchi, and Tommy Bahama. Everyone loves a great deal! It’s like having a personal shopper without the high price tag.”
