Not only does the work of GRACE bring out the best in the people we serve, we believe GRACE brings out the BEST people to see our mission is carried out.

“Faces of GRACE” is an editorial series that highlights instrumental volunteers who offer their talents and resources to support families in need.

Tammy Piel has worked closely with NCL DFW Metroport as the Feed Our Kids coordinator and liaison to GRACE the past three years. NCL, which stands for National Charity League, is an organization comprised of mothers and daughters who seek out service opportunities and cultural experiences to strengthen their personal bond and connection to the community.

The local chapter honors the mother-daughter relationship through mentoring and various service projects, including Feed Our Kids. Since 2009 the chapter has invested hundreds of hours of joint volunteerism at GRACE.

Tammy first learned about volunteer opportunities through Compass Church and wanted to get involved on a personal level. She and her daughter, Megan, have been part of the NCL DFW Metroport chapter since 2012 but have personally volunteered at GRACE for over six years.

Megan has since graduated from high school and will be embarking on new adventures after her time with the NCL chapter.

GRACE is thankful for people like Tammy who put their desires to action hope Tammy has been richly blessed in return!
