Donor Spotlight: The Avondale Group

We are so encouraged by the outpouring of support for the GRACE mission these past few weeks. In addition to numerous volunteers reaching out to come and assist across all service areas, we’ve had some wonderful donors show support with financial gifts.

On March 31, the entire The Avondale Group team arrived at the GRACE pantry parking lot with a massive amount of food delivered inside a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van. The Mercedes Sprinter was accompanied by a Porsche, Mercedes- Benz and an Aston-Martin. It was a sight to see.

The Avondale Group, located at 1300 Texan Trail, Grapevine, continues to offer the best, most luxurious vehicles from around the world. Owner Neil Grossman was joined by General Managers Jordan Mizrach, Zachary Gilbert, and Avondale Marketing Director Dave Evans.

The entire truckload of food was promptly unloaded, sorted and distributed in our pantry store to serve what can be as many as 700 visits a month.

In addition to the massive food donation, Grossman and team presented GRACE CEO Shonda Schaefer with a check for ten thousand dollars.

“We will put your generous gifts to work immediately to help those in need. Your gifts—both the great amount of food, and the cash donations—will touch the lives of many families in our area,” said Development Director Mark Woolverton.

If you are interested in supporting GRACE and the community, there are three ways to do so.

A financial contribution gives GRACE a chance to provide critically-needed programs and services like the Community Clinic, Food Pantry and Transitional Housing. A one-time gift is needed and appreciated. PLUS a monthly recurring gift will give needed revenues and a 12-month pledge helps GRACE plan for future needs.

Volunteering at GRACE expands the reach and capabilities of GRACE. Volunteers serve in nearly all facets of the GRACE mission from intake volunteers on the Donation Station drive-through to professional medical providers in the Community Clinic. Your time and talents drive the GRACE mission.

The long-term future of GRACE depends on the social enterprise activities of the Resale Department, beginning with Donation Station. A new Donation Station is under construction on Texan Trail and requires significant gifts for completion. Contributions to the Donation Station Fund will secure to strength and expansion of GRACE over the next ten years.

When a company, like Avondale, wants to give back in a way that will benefit local families and strengthen the bond they have with one another, GRACE is an ideal fit for volunteer opportunities, collection drives and monetary gifts.

Thanks to Avondale for their generosity and servant hearts.
