The GRACE Family would like to congratulate our Director of Resale & Operations, Jennifer Rawls for her graduation from Leadership HEB. The intensive, eight month course provides an opportunity to increase participant’s knowledge of the community, learn team-building and leadership skills and meet community leaders. Topics covered in the class include transportation, education, public safety, health care, city government and economic development.
In addition to attending informative class sessions, participants also enjoy a day trip to Austin and attend a city council meeting.
Class projects are also another large component of the program. The project for this class was organizing a blood drive for Carter Blood Care HEB and a beautification project for the Mid Cities Women’s Clinic that included landscaping.
“The class really helped me understand economics and government at a local level, which has been really eye opening,” Jennifer said. “This class gave me the tools I need to work with the community and GRACE at a higher level, it’s been an amazing experience.”
With only 20 participants in each class, this exclusive learning opportunity helps build the type of leaders we value here at GRACE.
Jennifer, oversees a large staff at both our GRACEful Buys locations, while also running the digital arm of our retail experience, GRACEful-e. A job as complicated as hers requires quick actions and even quicker thinking, so it’s been amazing seeing her navigate through this class and we are excited to see her implement what she’s learned.
