Compass has been a significant contributor of GRACE since 1995, giving nearly $400,000 to GRACE Programs. Not only have they been incredibly instrumental through monetary gifts, but they have also gifted their time and talents. Volunteers have donated over 1,000 service hours to many projects throughout the year.
By far one of the biggest events Compass does for GRACE is an annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Last year, it was the congregation’s goal to provide 10,000 Thanksgiving meals between their four campuses.
This year, boxes were printed and filled with lists of holiday food items each family or individual is to receive in their holiday baskets, along with encouraging scriptures and an envelope for “turkey money.” The boxes were available to church members at each of Compass’ services this past week, and are to be filled and returned during services this upcoming week.
A boy scout troop has eagerly volunteered to deliver the boxes and turkey money to GRACE. Our staff and volunteers will prepare to hand out the much needed Thanksgiving bounty boxes to our clients on November 25th, 26th and a half day on the 27th.
Thanks to everyone involved, GRACE staff and volunteers will be prepared hand out Christmas boxes ton December 18th, 19th and a half day on the 20th.
We cannot thank Compass enough for their help in being ready and able to serve families and individuals who would find it hard to afford groceries, not only for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day meals, but also for breakfast and other meals throughout their holiday celebrations.
If you would like to participate, you can drop off a monetary donation at one of the four locations or you can bring a box filled with the donated items. Each box will have a list of items needed for GRACE and other organizations.
Thank you, Compass, for all that you do!
