It has become a fixture in Southlake’s already stellar reputation for artistry and handsome urban culture. Art in the Square will showcase 150 of some of the nation’s top artists to benefit local charities supporting women, children and families. Tens of thousands of visitors flock to Southlake Town Square to view the curated artwork and fabulous entertainers that take the stage each of the three nights of Art in the Square. This fine art jubilee, which takes place from April 22-24, isn’t without your favorite festival food and beverages, and if quality family fun doesn’t get your attention—free admission might! The tremendous endeavor is led by Southlake Women’s Club, a highly-respected nonprofit in its own right with over 150 members and unrivaled community engagement. The club has been a pillar in the Southlake and surrounding community for three decades and raises funds for scholarships, grants and school supplies throughout the year. The club forms a vigorous

The sad reality is that many parents are either unable to take time off during this week with stringent hourly shifts, or a recent emergency has forced them to make difficult decisions between necessities. Feed Our Kids alleviates that burden to ensure that each child in the surrounding area receives a nutritious meal while they are not in school. The program is typically in during the summer months, but last year GRACE piloted Feed Our Kids during Spring Break with great success. This year we hope to provide hundreds of meals to children on site for neighborhood surrounding GRACE Main and the Food Pantry, but we need your help! Five group slots are still available for the Ticknor Terrace property, near the Food Pantry. If you are part of

No tax experience is required, and non-finance roles are needed to greet the incoming clients. GRACE has teamed up with the City of Fort Worth and United Way to facilitate free-onsite tax services to families with a combined income of $54,000 or less. This service is especially important to families, likely living paycheck to paycheck, by rightfully getting a refund that might have been left undiscovered if not for a costly tax service. The tax refunds make for a healthy local economy, and GRACE is also dedicated to offering resources to invest these funds to support the family long term. Many continued education resources are offered to clients, along with job coaching, financial coaching, budgeting, and ESL classes. The ultimate goal of this program is to equip families with the tools

Prior to the collection drive the class recounted all the seemingly-trivial items they relied on that day. The staff was conscientious about using this project as a teaching moment that not every child is guaranteed things we all take for granted, such as toiletry items, clothing, and a full pantry of snacks. When these young hearts understood that some children are in need, they took to asking family members and friends for new and gently used clothing. The staff didn’t want to discount them for being young and challenged them to speak up and conduct themselves graciously. Before they knew it these Pre-K students filled the classroom bin! This collection left a positive mark on these children and their families, who together

The daytrip made stops to JPS Health Network, Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine and the GRACE Community Clinic. Leadership Grapevine is designed to equip participants with a broader awareness of the city’s strengths and resources through educational experiences and projects. The process shares feasible ways the graduates can utilize their expertise to make our community a better place to live. It isn’t hard to guess that the community’s leaders are made up of some of the most generous people in Grapevine. Last year the 2015 class spent some time away from the ‘classroom’ to clean, restore and beautify the property for Transitional Housing. Leadership Grapevine has also volunteered ample time to our Community Garden initiative and tended to improve our other programs with personal volunteer hours. This

Along with the Transitional Housing Program Manager LaDondra Wilson, the pair is responsible for the day-to-day interaction and accountability for the clients. Lori comes to us from Arlington, where she was born and raised on a farm (back when Arlington had farms, she adds). As the Supervisor of Specialized Health Services in Arlington, Lori grew accustomed to maintaining a hefty caseload of family services, often which involved on-site home visits and community collaboration. Lori’s collective ministry, social work and foster care experience give her a well-rounded background to provide holistic, individualized care to each Transitional Housing client. She also has a background in the medical field, and is highly resourceful in taking swift action to find vocational and transportation solutions for our clients. She holds her Master of Arts in Christian Service from Texas Christian University

The event strives to provide spiritual renewal and spread awareness on the global impact of child sponsorship. The crowd that nearly filled the American Airlines Center was asked to make a cash donation to fund the next concert location. The heart behind the appeal was to support future events in the same way the previous host city funded the Dallas performance. Compassion International pledged the first $2,000 to be given to GRACE programs. The night itself was an incredible experience for GRACE staff, board members and GRACE Transitional Housing clients. The generous gift to support children in our local community is a testament to Compassion International, who essentially pioneered child sponsorship in the 1950’s after witnessing the
