GRACE gratefully welcomes Kimberly and Brent Tipps back as major sponsors of the GRACE Gala!

Kimberly and Brent chaired the event in 2019 to a phenomenal success, and they are following-up with a Platinum Plus sponsorship for 2020. The 2020 Gala will be a live streaming event taking place on Saturday, November 7.

“GRACE is very special to us,” said Brent. “And the work GRACE has done this year to help so many people in the hospitality industry is tremendous.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted many hotels, shops, and restaurants, BoomerJack’s included. Many of those who were furloughed or laid off from local hotels and restaurants turned to GRACE for assistance.

Kimberly and Brent operate fourteen BoomerJack’s Grill & Bar locations across the DFW area, a live music venue, the Bedford Ice House, and two more BoomerJack’s to open soon in Dallas and Plano.

With more than 1,600 employees relying on the Tipps’ for their livelihoods, Kimberly and Brent have been striving to make sure their restaurants are operating at peak efficiency, while ensuring their patrons, employees, and guests remain safe and well.

“We are doing better now,” said Brent. “The restaurants are serving at our limited capacity, and most have outdoor dining space.”

In 2002, Brent founded the BoomerJack’s restaurant family with a single location at Casa Linda Plaza in Dallas. In addition to the two BoomerJack’s under construction, Brent has three more signed deals in the works.

“We just need the banks to cooperate,” said Brent laughing. With so many other restaurants closing their doors and defaulting on loans, banks are hesitant to back the construction for BoomerJack’s new locations. “It’s a matter of showing them how successful we can be in spite of the pandemic,” he said.

BoomerJack’s was named in the Top 100 Places to Work by the Dallas Morning News on two occasions, and Brent was named 2017 Entrepreneur of Excellence by Fort Worth Magazine.

With much so success and growth, Kimberly and Brent are remarkable in how down to earth and humble they remain.

“It’s just not all about business,” said Kimberly. “What it’s truly all about is giving back.”

From the very start, taking care of their community has been one of their top priorities. As BoomerJack’s continues to grow, so do their efforts to support those less fortunate. Along with GRACE, the Tipps support six local food banks, several other non-profits, the Texas Rangers Foundation, Back the Blue, and the Joan Katz Breast Center.

They also love helping and watching their workers succeed.  BoomerJack’s low turnover rate speaks volumes for the culture the Tipp’s have built.

Kimberly and Brent are grateful for their blessings that allow them to offer help in so many ways.  By assisting their employees with housing, school, computers and technology costs, transportation, and other expenses the Tipp’s are truly servant leaders.

“We feel honored to be able to give back to GRACE,” Brent said. “Our passion with GRACE lies in the transformation that occurs when someone is empowered by GRACE to go out on their own and do it themselves.”
