GRACE Transitional Housing clients receive scholarships for furthering their education and making a strong start on their journey to self-sufficiency with the help of the Kathee Livengood Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Known as “Grapevine’s #1 volunteer”, Kathee Livengood was a successful realtor who made time to support civic organizations and community causes in Grapevine. After her passing in 2012, several of her friends started a scholarship as a special way to honor her.

Funds provide financial assistance to women to further their education, redirect their lives and provide a better future for their children.  The partnership between GRACE and the Kathee Livengood scholarship committee has been a strong one and has helped numerous Transitional Housing participants reach their educational goals.  In fact, a support group meeting for all GRACE Transitional Housing participants, included two members of the scholarship program and a representative from TCC to explain the process and get the ladies in attendance excited about the possibilities that lie ahead of them.

In June 2021, seven GRACE Transitional Housing ladies applied and were awarded scholarship funds to continue their educational pursuits.  One awardee has recently graduated from the program and is continuing her pursuit to become an educator.

Each year, the Kathee Livengood Memorial Scholarship committee organizes a birthday party to raise funds for the ongoing needs of the scholarship program.  This year, the Birthday Party is scheduled for September 2nd at Sloan and Williams Winery at 401 S. Main Street in Grapevine.  Tickets can be purchased before the event by going here  or may also be purchased at the door.  Please consider joining in on the fund and making a positive impact on the lives of families who find themselves homeless and struggling to achieve self-sufficiency.
