If there’s anything better than the camping trips, expeditions or pinewood derbies it’s the sense of generosity and strong moral character that being a boy scout gives to a young man.

Along with family and friends, Cub Scout pack 850 of Holy Trinity Catholic School collected nearly 1,000 items of food to replenish our Food Pantry!

Approximately 40 scouts and family members went door to door over a three-hour period sharing their objective with friends and neighbors: to ask those who had been blessed with an abundance of food to help fill the cupboards of families in distress through the Food Pantry.

“This exercise teaches our scouts that scouting is not just about camping, selling popcorn, pinewood derbies and knot tying,” said Cubmaster David Emmet. “Scouting helps teach good citizenship, healthy life choices, and most importantly, service to others. Our scouts really get to see their fruits of the labor by the end of the day when we are able to fill a whole SUV full of food items to help those in need.”

We are indebted to these young leaders for advocating for families on our behalf. Your kindness will touch the lives of many. Keep up the good work!
